I'm not sure what is going on here, but virtualization.info just added a couple Dell EqualLogic arrays to their Rent-a-Lab operation. I don't know who these folks are or what they are doing, so if anybody out there does, please comment and I'll post so we all know.

I think I know what these guys are doing with all this stuff ;-).
I'm Urs Stephan Alder, the partner of virtualization.info, Rent-A-Lab (RaL). We drive a lab for education, testing and demo purposes and had the idea to open this infrastructure to everybody worldwide.
The equipment is worth over 1'000'000 US$ now. For many companies it doesn't make sense to build such a huge lab. But otherwise they need sometimes, only for some days, professional equipement for demos, proof of concept, education, etc. This is the perfect situation for RaL.
One example - education and storage: As a VMware Certified Instructor I know, it makes sense that students can work with real stuff, like in a real datacenter. So they are able to experiment with features like thin provisioning, snapshots, replication, etc. Also there are products like VMware SRM. Such products need supported storage hardware. Freeware is, in this case, not an option.
That's the reason why Dell EqualLogic has it's place in our lab: It's a leading iSCSI storage-product and supports VMware SRM.
Best regards
USA

Urs,
This looks like an amazingly valuable service. How do people go about engaging with you?
