Decision process for Amazon S3

Pito Salas writes about using hosting services for storage in his most recent blog post. He says "relying on your hosting provider for ping & power has a different risk profile than relying on a SAAS provider for disk & cpu

I agree with Pito here, I'd probably want to understand the redundancy provisions pretty well before using a hosting provider for disk and cpu.
