I saw this post this morning by David L Kinney and thought it was pretty good. The possibility exists that my world does not overlay with yours. Apparently my storage world view is different than David's.
Most of the people I work with can't afford 3 nines availability. Rather I should say that their line of business computing apps can't afford it. Non-essential applications and services maybe could.
Thanks for writing, David, but next time please use links and trackbacks instead of just pulling quotes.

David, if you read this.
In addition to using links and trackbacks to opinions you don't agree with, it would be helpful if you also allowed comments on your blog. I understand the problems, but there aren't conversations if you don't let people know what you are talking about and if you don't let them comment.

Thank you for continuing the discussion, even without my use of trackbacks or comments.
I'm using TextPattern, which - unfortunately - doesn't support trackbacks. I'm currently evaluating other content management solutions that better align with my usage.
I wasn't aware that comments were not working - thanks for pointing that out. I will investigate.
Since finding your blog on Friday, I've enjoyed reading back through your postings. Your insights and wisdom directly relate to the IT environment in which I work and I'm now subscribing to your feed.
Regards,
David

Thanks for checking in David. FWIW, I'm sure you've researched a number of blog sites, but I like Wordpress. That said, we are using Movable Type for our site because of the support offerings they have.
Believe me, I know the frustrations of operating a blog site. I've had comments mysteriously disappear in the past and have had comments turned off without my knowledge. Blog spam can be a real pain in the rear too. Now I turn off comments on older posts to eliminate the spam that pours in every day.
Best of luck with your blog. You have a good writing style and discuss things clearly. I look forward to reading your opinions and observations.
On the topic of cloud storage, there is a lot to
